10 SUPERMARKET FOODS which can be good for you & can be eaten in limited amounts.
1. PB & J (Peanut butter & jelly) has 190 cal/tbs so go EASY on it; but for kids lunch its good as it holds 6gm protein & fibre
2. HONEY: natural sweatner & has 60 cal/Tbs with 16gm sugar. (No need to buy expensive ones as its calorically & nutritionally same.
3. HERSHEYS Dark Chocolate is good as it has disease fighting flavonoids BUT eat 1 piece at a time & not whole bar as has 180 cal & 19g sugar
4. TUNA canned has lot of nutrition & only 120 cal/4oz
5. OLIVE OIL: Yes..its all fat but all good kind, so use it for cooking.
6. EGGS: good source of protein, choline & Vit B
7. MILK: Easy source of Calcium & Vit D. Take low fat milk (110cal & 8g protein per cup.)
8. CANNED BEANS: esp Pinto beans is the winner as they r loaded with proteins. (it is seen that nutrient & fibre content is usually higher in canned food)
9. SPINACH canned: Its 85% cheaper than fresh & nutrition wise very same.
10. AVOCADO GUACAMOLE OR Salsa is great for snacks...less calories & least preservatives. Rich in antioxidants du to tomatoes, cilantro, onions etc.
