Ingredients:
Coconut grated: 1 cup (use fresh or frozen)
Chana dal (soaked) or Dalia (dry): 1/4 cup
Green Chillies: 2-3
Seasoning: Hing (asfoetida): 1/8th teaspoon, Mustard seeds (rai): 1/4th tsp, Curry leaves:3-6, Coriander leaves: little (chopped), Urad dal: 1 tsp
METHOD:
1. Grind coconut, green chillies & soaked chana dal or dry dalia with little water or liquid curd (optional) in the mixie to form a smooth paste. Add salt to taste.
2. For seasoning: In oil, add little hing (asfoetida), mustard seeds, curry leaves, one tsp urad dal, 2-3 Red whole chillies (optional). When it crackles, add it to the coconut chutney.
3. Serve it with Idlis, dosas, wadas , uthpam etc.
